Ventilla – El Alto
Find Your First Home Program
Empowering families and building thriving communities.
Since its inception in September 2015, the Access to Your First Home Program has aimed to provide low-income families with the chance to own a dignified and comfortable home. This project focuses not only on building houses but also on forming strong communities where families can build a more stable future for their children.
Located 30 minutes from El Alto downtown, in the Montero neighborhood and surrounding areas like Ventilla, the program operates in regions with great growth potential. These areas are experiencing a commercial and residential boom, driven by projects such as reforestation, which promises to create a more favorable microclimate. The area is also well-served by public transportation, local businesses, and ongoing construction, ensuring it will soon be a densely populated and prosperous region.
To date, we have built 70 homes, steadily moving toward the goal of 100 in this first phase, benefiting over 65 families who now enjoy having a home of their own. Our goal is to offer a real alternative to the rising costs of rent, which often force families to relocate to distant and unsuitable areas.
This project has been made possible thanks to the invaluable support of local and international volunteers. Young people from schools, universities, and volunteers from other countries have worked side by side in building these homes, contributing their time and effort to make the dream of homeownership a reality for many families.
Our commitment continues this year, with a focus on working with families living on the outskirts of La Paz and El Alto, cities that, at more than 12,000 and 14,000 feet above sea level, offer breathtaking landscapes and a future full of possibilities for those who join this great initiative today.

The Dignified Transitional Housing Program
In this new project, we have established a strategic partnership with the Municipal Government of La Paz to support the shelter located in Alto Obrajes.
How are The houses?
Our houses made of brick, with cement plaster, corrugated roofs, kitchens with tiles, glass windows and metal doors, drastically changed the lives of Mizque families who lived in huts made of adobe bricks, without windows or doors with thatched roofs
